5.8/10

My stay at the hotel had its highs and lows. The location was fantastic, just a short walk from the subway, and the area's vibe was lively with plenty of nearby dining and shopping options. However, the service was a major letdown, especially with issues regarding my reservation and response times. It felt like the room could have been better equipped for the price we paid, making it hard to justify the value.

Rooms

The room had unique features, but the setup was frustrating with a narrow closet and no fridge. It felt a bit unloved and dated for the price point.
Service

Service was disappointing, especially during my check-in experience, where inconsistencies led to significant frustration. I expected much more attention to detail.

The location was a standout, directly across from McCarren Park and close to the subway for easy access to Brooklyn and beyond. It felt safe and vibrant.
Dining

Breakfast was a letdown due to the unexpected arrangements and cold seating, which made the experience uncomfortable. The lack of refund for services promised added to the frustration.

While there was a rooftop bar advertised, it was a disappointment compared to expectations given the price of the stay. Facilities could have been better maintained.

I had an amazing stay at the McCarren Hotel! The staff was exceptional, and the atmosphere was perfect for a cozy getaway. The breakfast included was lovely, but I did have some issues with the pool being adults only, which wasn’t communicated well before my arrival. Overall, I would definitely return because of the great service and unique design!

I had an incredible time at the McCarren Hotel in Brooklyn! The atmosphere was vibrant, with plenty of local dining options and breweries. The rooftop bar offered stunning views of the NYC skyline. However, I encountered some issues with my stay, particularly regarding cleanliness and a lack of amenities that were initially promised, which dampened my experience a bit.

Rooms
5.0
The room was disappointing as it felt more like a standard space than a penthouse, with a broken wine fridge and dirty floors.
Service

When I raised my concerns, the response wasn’t as attentive as I had hoped, especially considering the price point.

Although I loved the vibe of the pool area and the gym was fantastic, the communication regarding pool access could definitely improve. Overall, it's a great deal for the area and I would happily return.
